This is the site section dedicated to Technology. Literally “science of craft” (from Greek), it’s the collection of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, and the like, or it can be embedded in machines to allow for specific operation.

The articles will mainly deal with Engineering, the creative application of scientific principles to design, develop, invent, innovate, build, maintain, research, and improve structures, machines, tools, systems, components, materials, processes, solutions, and organizations.

This discipline is extremely broad and encompasses a range of more specialized fields, each with a more specific emphasis on particular areas of applied science, technology and types of application.

The word comes from Latin “ingenium” and from the same root comes the term “ingenuity”. In the original meaning, an engineer was understood as an intelligent, practical man capable of solving problems.
